The 2014 Jaguar F-Type debuted at the Paris Auto Show in the latter part of 2012 and heads inevitably turned as Jaguar unleashed its first sports car in 50 years on an anticipating audience. The F-Type obviously draws inspiration from the classic E-Type, especially in the front. The rear has more of a modern flare with slim taillights and a gleaming, centered exhaust. The lines connecting the retro front end with the more modern rear are sleek and smooth, not looking at all out of place. The interior of the F-Type is what really shows this car’s true colors. Unmistakably sports car with a driver-oriented cockpit, clear digital readouts and big knobs and buttons that somehow blend futuristic with retro in one clean sweep.
Jaguar Re-Enters the Sports Car Market
In a way, this car was a long time coming for Jaguar. The E-Type ended production in 1974 and rumors immediately began making the rounds that another sports car was coming.

However, Jaguar did nothing to confirm them and continued building cars like the XJ220 and more recently the XKR-S. All classy cars, but big cars, and nothing that fits the true mold of a sports car. In 2000, an F-Type concept made an appearance at the Detroit auto show, hinting that perhaps Jaguar was coming back into the sports car market. In 2011, Auto blog Canada and others were buzzing about the C-X16 concept in Frankfurt. That car looked remarkably like the F-Type production model, which was finally announced in April of 2012.
The F-Type roadster will be the first to debut and it has both V-6 and V-8 engines available. Both engines are supercharged and there are two versions of the V-6. Power breakdowns are as follows. The base V-6 engine puts out 332 lb-feet of torque and produces 340 horsepower. The second V-6, or F-Type S, kicks it up to 380 horses and 339 lb-feet of torque. The V-8 is naturally the top dog model and it puts out a big 495 horsepower and a strong 460 lb-feet of torque. The initial release features an eight-speed automatic transmission to transfer all that power to the rear wheels, but a manual transmission is expected in the near future.

Aston Martin DB9 is a thoroughbred sports car with a higher level of comfort. In 2012, the company introduced the updated DB9. Innovation has become more elegant and luxurious. For Aston Martin DB9 refined powertrain, which is now capable of producing 517 hp, 40 hp greater than that of its predecessor.
It is worth noting the interesting fact: Russia – one of the largest buyers of the car, but no official service only 2. However, even in Moscow DB9 is extremely rare.
Toyota Yundong Shuangqing Concept
Toyota brought three concepts to the Beijing auto show, but only one—the Yundong Shuangqing hybrid—can claim to be inspired by clouds. (Details on Toyota’s two additional Beijing auto show debutantes can be found here).
The Yundong Shangqing was created exclusively for a Chinese audience and its name carries a specific meaning in Mandarin Chinese. “Yundong” is a term intended to suggest an image of movement among clouds, implying, we’re told, innovation, dynamism, and eco-friendliness; “shuangqing” is a coined expression that suggests dual supports, signifying the two power sources of the gasoline-electric hybrid system. Yundong and its implied meaning also serves as Toyota’s corporate slogan in China.
The exterior styling looks well within production parameters, with perhaps the exception of the sharp creases that extend from the A-pillars across the hood to Toyota’s trademark hybrid-blue grille ornament.
The concept is equipped with a hybrid system developed at Toyota’s R&D center in Changshu, the company seems particularly proud of the homegrown nature of its Chinese hybrid technology. During a press conference at the Beijing auto show, TMC President Akio Toyoda that the company “would like to put smiles on the faces of our Chinese customers with hybrid technology. I want the people of China to be able to experience the beauty of hybrid technology through a hybrid car born in China.” Chinese tariffs and partnership rules likely forced Toyota to develop those technologies in the country rather than leveraging its established hybrid know-how.
Although very few details have trickled out of China regarding the Yundong Shuangqing concept, a Toyota spokesperson told us the concept vehicle is part of a project currently underway: “Toyota is carrying out development plans with the China FAW Group Corporation and Guangzhou Automobile Group to produce and sell vehicles with hybrid components made in China by around 2015.” If the Yundong Shuangqing or the Daimler and BYD’s Denza electric concept are anything to go by, major manufacturers are beginning to take the Chinese hybrid and EV market seriously /caranddriver.com
Mercedes E300 BlueTEC Hybrid 2013
The car got a lot of new systems, components, assemblies and programs, some of which came from the “Formula 1”. For example, the braking energy recovery system (KERS analogue of F1): during braking, the generator recharges the battery, the stored energy is then used to disperse. Or, for example mode “drift”: at a certain speed engine is switched off and the electric motor begins to maintain a constant speed until its batteries are exhausted.

The Porsche 914 was introduced in September of 1969 as a collaborative effort between Porsche and Volkswagen to produce a sporty car. The car they came up with was a mid-engined vehicle with seating for two and featured a targa top. A 4-cylinder boxer engine provided the power. Volkswagen need a vehicle to replace the aging Karmann-Ghia while Porsche was looking for another option to add to their line up. The VW bodied vehicles were known as 914/4S while the Porsche variants were known as 914/6s. However, all 914S’s sold in North America were considered Porsches.
The car sits very low and the suspension is stiff making it a great competition car rather than a touring car. The headlights hide in the hood and pop-up when needed. The targa top can be stored in the trunk.
The horizontally opposed flat-four engine is mid-mounted and came in three differnent sizes, 1.7, 1.8 or 2 liter. The 1.7 liter engine produced 80 horsepower, the 1.8 produced 79, and the 2.0 liter engine produced 95. A five-speed manual gearbox was standard equipment on all models.
The 914/6 was short lived with only 3360 examples produced between 1970 and 1972. All featured the 2.0 liter flat-six engine. It was raced using different engine configurations. Oh, and it also has more than 737 lb-ft of torque, courtesy of a new 60-degree, 6.0-liter twin-turbo V-12 developed expressly for the car by the engine wizards at AMG, replacing the 7.3-liter naturally aspirated AMG V-12 in the Zonda. The mid-mounted engine drives the rear wheels through a seven-speed, single clutch automated manual transmission built by Xtrac, the British company that makes trannys for F1 cars and Le Mans prototypes. There was some wrangling over the new engine’s configuration. Horacio Pagani didn’t like the idea of turbos, and didn’t like the naturally aspirated V-8 AMG first proposed as a replacement for the Zonda’s 7.3. He wanted a V-12, but AMG engineers were insistent that to meet emissions and fuel consumption standards through the next decade, the engine had to have forced induction. AMG clearly knew what it was talking about. At cruising speeds, the Huayra is one of the most fuel-efficient supercars in the business, says Pagani, brandishing figures fresh from the test lab showing it has achieved 21 mpg (U.S.) on the Euro highway cycle.

Ferrari Enzo 2013 concept
Ferrari Enzo Car Rendered Concept by Constantin-Gabriel RADU draws heavily on design elements from the most recent crop of Ferrari’s, particularly the 458 Italia. Except for a mid-engined V12-powered supercar there’s very little when it comes to air intakes, or perhaps cooling vents, for the purpose is certain to be a scorching lump of steel just behind your cockpit. It would be surprising if the closing design was signed-off even though the hood remained as smooth as a pancake as well as void of any aerodynamic building.
The famous Chevrolet Corvette dates back to 1953, and all automobile historians considered the ancestor of the American super car. The latest generation of C6 under the symbol was presented in 2005, but super cars can live long and five years of the model does not mean its old age. However, concern GM thinks the release of the next generation super car, which will be released no earlier than in 2012.
The last Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Concept will also find continuation in the production model. It GM designers have used a lot of fresh and interesting solutions, since the original arrangement of optics in the fade body and ending with a modern interpretation of the separate rear glass with car design icons of the last century Corvette Stingray 1963. Especially since the last Stingray 2009 lit in the cinematic saga “Transformers,” and there is a celebration of the existing models of Chevrolet – Camaro and the new Spark. Fotoshpiony caught and a new version of the Corvette Stingray concept without a roof. If this is not a fake Hollywood film producers, the roadster can be a reaffirmation of the design Corvette C7. But Tom Peters (Tom Peters), the last member of the design team concept Corvette Stingray, makes it plain that the C7 will be different. It will inherit from the concept only a few details.

Now, here’s a concept car with a real concept: Peugeot’s Onyx hybrid. Autoblog calls it “a masterpiece in matte black paint” whose “most striking features are the two huge swathes of polished copper that adorn both sides.”
The beautiful two-tone hybrid vehicle is not only eye-catching but is propelled by a fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain. The 3.7-liter V8 diesel engine sits at the back of the car and the electric motor over the front axle and gives out an enormous 600 horsepower to all the wheels. The concept car’s two tones are flat black and copper with an extremely minimalistic design. Ideally it would be best to have a carbon fiber body but we will have to wait until the Paris Motor Show to find out more about it.
