Here’s the simple math: The Huayra weighs less than 3000 pounds (dry) and has 720 horsepower.

Oh, and it also has more than 737 lb-ft of torque, courtesy of a new 60-degree, 6.0-liter twin-turbo V-12 developed expressly for the car by the engine wizards at AMG, replacing the 7.3-liter naturally aspirated AMG V-12 in the Zonda. The mid-mounted engine drives the rear wheels through a seven-speed, single clutch automated manual transmission built by Xtrac, the British company that makes trannys for F1 cars and Le Mans prototypes. There was some wrangling over the new engine’s configuration. Horacio Pagani didn’t like the idea of turbos, and didn’t like the naturally aspirated V-8 AMG first proposed as a replacement for the Zonda’s 7.3. He wanted a V-12, but AMG engineers were insistent that to meet emissions and fuel consumption standards through the next decade, the engine had to have forced induction. AMG clearly knew what it was talking about. At cruising speeds, the Huayra is one of the most fuel-efficient supercars in the business, says Pagani, brandishing figures fresh from the test lab showing it has achieved 21 mpg (U.S.) on the Euro highway cycle.

The Infiniti G35 offers the sporty handling of a rear-wheel-drive car and boasts one of the best V6 engines available today. The sedan also offers more interior space than other near-luxury sedans.

The G35 comes in two body styles: a four-door sedan and a two-door coupe. Each offers a choice of five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. All models are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. In both the coupe and sedan, it’s rated at 280 horsepower with the automatic and 298 horsepower with the manual. Leather upholstery is standard, along with automatic climate control, steering wheel audio controls, illuminated visor vanity mirrors and high-intensity discharge (HID) xenon headlamps.

For 2006, The Infiniti G35 receives optional Rear Active Steer for the G35 coupe. Several option packages have been upgraded: Premium packages now include a Bluetooth hands-free phone system. Projector-beam bi-xenon headlights are now standard on the coupe. Automatic coupes with the Sport Suspension Package now wear the same aero package as manual-transmission versions.

2012 Faralli & Mazzanti Evantra

Teasers for Faralli & Mazzanti’s Mugello prototype have barely left the spotlight and the Italian company has already unveiled the production version of their other supercar: the Evantra. The new Evantra will be built in limited edition – only 5 examples per year – with the first deliveries being made in mid-2012. Each unit produced will be supervised personally by its creator, Mr. Luca Mazzanti.

The Evantra was designed by Luca Mazzanti together with Zsolt Tarnok (F&M chief designer) and combines modern cues with classic elements in a perfectly balanced supercar. It also combines smooth surfaces with aggressive elements in the shape of the lights with modern LED lights. There are also precise and neat outlines in the connections of the air inlets and outlets around the car.
